As Iran’s nationwide uprising enters its second week, protests have spread to all provinces, marking one of the most extensive waves of resistance in recent years. In a message marking the start of the second week, Maryam Rajavi honored the young victims of state violence, including 15-year-old Mostafa Fallahi killed by the IRGC in Azna, and saluted the courage of a fearless generation determined to overthrow the ruling religious dictatorship.
On Day 8 of the uprising, strikes in Tehran’s Grand Bazaar signaled a major escalation, directly challenging the regime at the heart of its economic power. Despite heavy security measures and threats by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, merchants, students, and citizens joined forces, turning economic grievances into an open political demand for regime change.
Young women have emerged as a leading force in the protests across all provinces, defying repression, university shutdowns, and mass arrests. The regime’s response has included systematic repression, enforced disappearances, and over 1,100 reported arrests in more than 35 cities.
Meanwhile, Iranians across Europe and Northern Europe rallied in solidarity, demanding freedom, democracy, and international recognition of the Iranian people’s right to resist repression. These global demonstrations underscore the growing international dimension of the uprising and the increasing isolation of the regime.
