Iranian youth representatives from across Europe gathered in Brussels to urge the EU to take immediate action against the escalating wave of political executions in Iran. Participants reported that at least 31 political prisoners have been executed since mid-March, with more than 50 others currently on death row.
Representing over 1,000 young Iranians in Europe, speakers called on the EU to condition relations with Tehran on an end to executions, impose sanctions on human rights violators, and support international accountability efforts. The conference also promoted the June 20 Paris rally, where up to 100,000 people are expected to demonstrate in support of a democratic and secular republic in Iran and an end to political executions.
